Colorado Wage and Bank Account Levies

Once all appeal rights have either gone unused, been waived by the taxpayer, or expired, the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) or its collection-agency designee will take collection action through the use of wage and bank account levies. The vast majority of time, CDOR will not release of withdraw a levy unless the taxpayer shows that the levy is causing a substantial hardship on the taxpayer’s family or ability to earn income. CDOR will require the taxpayer to complete a form listing the taxpayer’s income, expenses, assets, and liabilities before considering a release of the levy.

If you find yourself in this situation, David A. Sprecace has more than 22 years of experience working to get CDOR levies released, and establishing installment agreements on behalf of clients. Call 303-454-8260 or email Dave at
